If you want to use a basket on your Mettler Toledo scale, you’ll need to tare the scale first. Please see video and instructions below:
Set Communication Mode
On the Mettler Toledo display, the default communication mode is HIDPOS. You’ll need to change it to Virtual USB.
Hold the UP button for about 5 seconds until the configuration screen appears.
Navigate to SETUP → COM → USB → VIRTUAL SERIAL.
Save and Reboot
Go back to HOME → END → SAVE → EXIT.
The scale will reboot automatically.
Tare the Basket
Once the scale restarts and shows 0.00, place your basket on the scale.
Press the M (Mode) key and select WtTare, then exit the menu.
Navigate to the T (Tare) icon.
The display should now show 0.00 again — meaning the basket weight has been tared out.
Ready to Weigh
Your scale is now tared and will send the net weight (excluding the basket) to the Cents Employee App.
