Installing the POS Reader
Set all positions on the DIP switches to off (down), expect for #8 which should be on. This will address the reader as POS1.
Connect the provided power adapter.
Note: The POS reader is wirelessly networked, so there's no wire that needs to be connected from the POS reader to the POS computer; the communication is through the cloud.
Activate the reader using the activation card.
Verify the reader activation:
Log in to your Laundroportal account.
Confirm that POS1 appears in the Machines table for your location.
You should also see a Point Of Sale option under the Management Tools section for that location.
Do not proceed with configuring the POS software until your POS reader is shown as online. The Point Of Sale menu option will not appear until at least one POS card reader has been activated.
Configuring the POS Software in Laundroworks
Select the Point Of Sale option found in the Management Tools section and this will take you to a page where you can get everything configured.
Under the POS provider drop down, select "Cents" and you will then be shown the corresponding configurations that would need to be applied in the Business Manager to link your Laundroworks POS reader to your system.
Note: If you're not seeing any credentials, please contact our support team so we can setup an API user that your POS system can use for this integration ([email protected]).
Enabling Laundroworks Payments in Cents
Go to the relevant location in your Cents Business Manager, click the three-dot menu, and select “Configure Payment Options” from the dropdown.
Toggle on "Cash Card Payments" and select "Laundroworks".
Input Required Information Including Laundroworks Username, Password, Customer Key, Location ID, and POS Number.
Running a Basic Test Transaction
Head back to the Laundroportal to run a test transaction.
Below the listed POS credentials, you'll be able to run a basic transaction against your POS System. To do this, you will need to:
Set a Transaction Amount
Chose the Command for the Transaction (i.e. Sale)
Chose the POS Device (the device should be displaying the "Device Online" message)
Optionally, write in a Comment to describe the transaction (i.e. Test Transaction)
Click Run Transaction
This will then trigger the Transaction to be sent to the POS-Reader, which should then prompt for payment for the custom Amount within a few seconds.
At this point a Laundry-User-Card must be presented to the POS-Reader within 30 seconds.
If a Laundry-User-Card is not presented to the POS-Reader within 30 seconds, the transaction will time out and will be cancelled.
If presented within the 30 second window, the reader will charge that amount to the laundry card.
Once complete, a record of the POS Transaction will be shown in the Point of Sale Requests table at the bottom of the page
If the transaction was completed successfully, and the Laundry-User-Card balance will be updated, and a Record of the transaction will also appear for the Laundry-User-Card in the MCU-Logs (aka Reader Logs), and in Card-Tracker.
