Observed problem
The reader takes the money from the card but does not start or affect the machine in any way. There are several cases and corresponding tests and actions to take.
Case 1: This is a one-time or occasional occurrence glitch. The reader works fine otherwise.
Please report the issue to [email protected]. Include your Support ID
Case 2: Problem with just one or a few readers only. These readers always take money, never start machine (other readers on same type of machine are fine)
First check the reader's settings against others. Reboot the machine/reader and check that the messages are identical to a working machine. If settings are 100% identical, then do a Swap Test
Case 3: New Installation and it's a problem with ALL readers for the same type of machine
Check the START wires (white/green) to ensure they are connected properly to the machine control in accordance with our documentation at Reader Installations
Confirm the reader's Control Type setting on the Portal and ensure the correct reader is connected to a machine. For example, it's possible that a reader meant for an old Dexter dryer with Control Type="NO, DRY", is mounted on a C-series Dexter machine. This is obviously incorrect.
Ensure machine is configured to start with only one pulse since our reader sends ONLY one pulse in most cases. Note that by default coin machines need several pulses to start (each pulse representing only 25cents).
