Every pickup and delivery order in Cents carries a few statuses at once, and they answer different questions. This article defines each one so you can tell at a glance where an order is.
An order has three kinds of status:
Order status, where the laundry is in your workflow. This shows in the Status column on the Orders page and at the top of the order detail.
Delivery status, where the driver or route is. A pickup and delivery order has two legs: the pickup (customer to store) and the return (store back to customer). You'll see these in Dispatch and on the order's Pickup & Delivery tab.
Payment status, whether the order is paid, still owes a balance, or has been refunded.
Order statuses
Status | What it means |
Submitted | The order has been placed. For a pickup order, the customer requested pickup but a driver hasn't collected the laundry yet. |
Driver picked up from customer | A driver has collected the laundry from the customer and is bringing it to the store. |
Ready for intake | The laundry has arrived at the store and is waiting to be weighed and checked in. |
Ready for processing | Intake is complete. The order is waiting to be washed, dry cleaned, or otherwise processed. |
Processing | The order is actively being worked on: washing, drying, folding, or dry cleaning. |
Ready for pickup | The order is finished and waiting for the customer to collect it in store. Return method: in-store pickup. |
Ready for driver pickup | The order is finished and waiting for a driver to deliver it back to the customer. Return method: delivery. |
En route to customer | A driver has the finished order and is on the way to deliver it. |
Completed | The order has been delivered or picked up. Nothing left to do. |
Delivery statuses
Each leg, pickup and return, has its own delivery status.
Status | What it means |
Scheduled | The delivery is booked to a route or time window. The driver hasn't started yet. |
En route to pickup | The driver has started the route and is on the way to collect the laundry. |
En route to drop-off | The driver has the laundry and is heading to the destination: the store on the pickup leg, the customer on the return leg. |
Completed | The delivery leg is finished. |
Canceled | The delivery was canceled. For example, the customer switched the return to in-store pickup, or the driver couldn't complete the stop. |
A return delivery can exist before the customer schedules it. Until they pick a return time, the return leg sits as a not-yet-scheduled placeholder and moves to Scheduled once a window is chosen.
Payment statuses
Status | What it means |
Balance due | The order still has an amount owed. |
Paid | The order is paid in full. |
Refunded | A payment, or part of one, has been returned to the customer. |
On-demand (DoorDash) orders: for prepaid on-demand orders, the card is first authorized when the order is placed and then charged for the final amount once intake sets the actual price. This is why payment can show as pending until the order is picked up and priced.
