Sunmi M2 Max and Cradle Station Profile

Reference for the buttons, camera, and indicators on the Sunmi M2 Max handheld device.

The Sunmi M2 Max is a handheld Android device that runs the Cents Employee App. It can sit in a cradle station that adds ports for a wired network, USB accessories, and power.

Use this if you want to know what the buttons and ports on your M2 Max or its cradle do.

Sunmi M2 Max: buttons and ports

  1. Front Camera: Used for video conferencing or shooting images and videos.

  2. LED Indicator: Used to indicate charging status and other alerts.

  3. Volume Key: Used to adjust the volume (this key can be set as a quick code -scanning key, application support is required).

  4. Power Key:

    1. Press: light up the screen, lock the screen.

    2. Long press: Press and hold for 2- 3 seconds to turn on the phone when it is off.

    3. When powered on, press and hold for 2- 3 seconds to select shutdown or restart.

    4. When powered off, press and hold for 11 seconds to restart automatically.

  5. Earphone hole: Used for 3.5mm CTIA earphones.

  6. PSAM Card Slot: Used to insert an encrypted PSAM CPU card.

  7. Nano -SIM Card Slot /Micro -SD Card Slot: Supports one Nano -SIM card plus one Micro -SD card, or 2 Nano -SIM cards at the same time. 8 Type-C Can be used to charge devices and for developer debugging.

  9. Rear Camera: Supports photo taking and 1D/2D quick code -scanning.

  10. Flash: Used to illuminate the surroundings when taking a picture.

  11. NFC: Used for NFC cards such as membership cards.

  12. Pogo pin: Used for communication and charging when used with scanner handle accessory or cradle accessory.

  13. Vesa Hole: Suitable for the installation of Vesa bracket with hole position of 75*75 mm.

  14. Barcode Scanner(Optional): For data collection through scanning.

M2 Max cradle station

  1. LAN (Ethernet) Port: Used to connect the device directly to a router via an Ethernet cable, enabling wired network access.

  2. 2x USB Ports: Used for connecting peripherals, such as a barcode scanner and label printer, through USB connections.

  3. DC Power Port: Provides power to the device; and enables charging.

  4. Cash Drawer Port: Do not use this port for cash drawer connection. Please connect the cash drawer to the back of the printer via an RJ12 cable.

Troubleshooting

  • The device won't turn on.
    Charge it with the USB-C port or the cradle, then hold the power key for 2 to 3 seconds.

  • The device is frozen.
    Hold the power key for 11 seconds to restart it.

  • The cash drawer won't open from the cradle.
    The cradle's cash drawer port isn't for drawers. Connect the drawer to the back of the printer with an RJ12 cable.

  • The barcode scanner isn't working.
