Some SpeedQueen and Huebsch machines that fall into the “Centurion” era will be installed in the GPIO configuration. This guide reflects that process.
Required Materials:
• 30-01023 harness
• 30-00872 adapter
• Pulse Device
1. Locate the main control board. This is vertically oriented and is immediately
behind the buttons and display for cycle selection.
Note for NetMaster machines that the header is 4-pins. Orient the connector such that the black wire is at the bottom of the header (in the orientation shown above). Three pins will not be connected and these can be ignored.
2. Locate the 7-pin header. Plug in the mating connector on the 30-01023
harness. Ensure polarity is correct by mating the small ramp on the
connector with the large L-shaped ramp on the header. These two ramps
should touch each other.
3. Locate the 3-pin coin connectors. There are typically 2 coin interfaces, and
only the operational interface should be located. This can be done by
tracing the cables from the currently installed coin drop and disconnecting
them.
2. Unplug the coin drop from the machine interface and plug in the (2) 3-pin connectors from the 30-01023 harness in-line, as shown above.
4. Locate the relay board, as shown below
5. At the rear right of the relay board, there is a 4-pin connector with two pins
populated with a red and white cable.
6. Using the 30-00872 adapter, plug in the contacts into the two open
locations. Order does not matter.
7. Plug in the male 2-pin connector from the 30-00872 harness into the
female 2-pin connector of the 30-01023 harness.
8. For washers, ensure that the 6-pin KK254 jumper is installed. For dryers do not use the jumper.
9. Once the install process is complete, the Penny device will be able to power
up. Ensure that the WiFi network is correctly installed according to the
separate documentation
10. If the WiFi network is correctly established, the device will automatically connect to the network and will eventually show a QR code. When the device is on the screen shown in Step 10, “EXIT” can be pressed to have the device show the QR Code. Alternatively the device will show the QR code after the device is powered on (in this case the code will be displayed for 60 seconds 20 seconds after boot, then the device will proceed to the screen shown in Step 10. This can be scanned in order to access a webpage for the provisioning process. Cents will provide a login for this webpage.
11. Once logged in, a page similar to the one shown below will be accessible. Selections on this page are critical as mistakes require Cents to de-provision and reset devices remotely.
Fleet, release, machine type, and serial type will be preset.
Washer or dryer can be selected
Device number
Short device name
Price in dollars is the vend price. For dryers, this is the default price that will be shown before any top-offs are added
Minutes per quarter is used only for dryers.
For washers,
0must be entered
12. Note: ensure that the correct “pulse” settings are set on the machine. This is done by entering the programming menu and following the steps below (note that a sample machine type is shown and this may vary machine to machine, though the process is the same):
2. Open the top cover. (NOTE: The coin vault switch must be closed to
enter Manual Mode.)
3. While pressing and holding the NORMAL keypad with one hand,
press the LIGHT keypad with the other hand.
4. The display will show rAPd
5. Press the HEAVY (∧) or the DELICATES (∨) keypad to scroll through
the options until ProG appears on the display
6. Press the START (enter) keypad to enter the ProG menu
7. Press the HEAVY (∧) or the DELICATES (∨) keypad to scroll through
the options until PLSn appears on the display
8. Press the START (enter) keypad to enter the PLSn menu
9. Press the HEAVY (∧) or the DELICATES (∨) keypad to scroll through
the options until 192 appears on the display
10.Press the START (enter) keypad to select this option
11. Press the PERM PRESS (<) keypad until the manual mode has been
exited.
The photo below shows a reasonable location for the Pulse device. Take care to orient the antenna as shown below.
