Updated this week

This installation covers Speed-Queen/Huebsch washers with Netmaster controls. The reader uses Pulse control through a designated pulse interface on the machine's control.

(Shown above is a card-ready version with an ESD reader - just for reference)

Parts

  • Reader (Board should be Generic Serial - ASSY-02-02-10)

  • Cable harness

Installation

  1. Before proceeding, you should assign numbers to each of the machines in the laundry room/building. It is highly recommended that you place number labels on each washer and dryer machine.

  2. Set the machine type and number using the DIP switch on the back of the card reader:

See DIP switch settings page to understand how to configure DIP switch positions to set the machine type (washer or dryer) and number.

  3. Turn machine power OFF!

  4. Remove coin drop or other card-reader

  5. Connect the two connectors from the cable harness to header H6 and H9 as shown below:

  6. Connect the reader-side cable to the reader and secure the reader to the machine

  7. Enter the machine's programming menu and enable the Single Pulse mode in the Start Pulse Mode, if not already enabled (when converting from coin drops, this will always be required). This is done by changing the setting number 124 to the value 128:

Vend Prices

Set the Vend price through the Portal. Only a single price is supported. On the washing machine, the vend price is irrelevant. However you may want to set the displayed vend price to "1" to avoid having to synchronize the reader vend price to the displayed price.

Troubleshooting

Below are problems specific to this machine type. For more general reader troubleshooting, see Reader Support Process

Issue

Explanation and resolution

Reader always shows "BUSY" (machine is not running)

1. On the washer, confirm that setting 124 is set to value 128

2. Check the harness connections carefully. It's possible a connector got flipped or installed on wrong header.
