Installation

Do not mix up readers for washers and readers for dryers. They use different firmware and are not interchangeable.

  1. Before proceeding, you should assign numbers to each of the machines in the laundry room/building. It is highly recommended that you place number labels on each washer and dryer machine.

  2. Set the machine type and number using the DIP switch on the back of the reader

See DIP switch settings page for more details.

  3. Turn machine power OFF!

  4. Remove the coin drop if present

  5. Connect the signal connectors

  6. Connect Power
Newer Encore dryer models should be provided with a short power cable inside the drum of the machine:

Connect this cable between the dryers control board and the mating 2-pin connector on the cable harness from the reader.

If you're unable to find this cable, you can get 12V from the dryer control. You can splice into the wires coming from the connector on this machine as follows:

Splice the blue wire from the reader cable harness to the wire representing GND.
Splice the red wire from the reader cable harness to the wire representing 12V

  7. Proceed to secure the reader to the machine using the nuts

  8. Activate the card reader with the Store's Activation Card:

Vend Pricing

Set the pricing on the reader using the LaundroPortal. The reader will send ONE pulse every time a card is presented.
