For non-serial dryers such as Alliance Centurion, MDC, and NetMaster dryers, and Electrolux Compass Pro dryers, the Cents device has no direct communication with the machine to read its vend price or cycle time. This means the device pricing must be set independently from the machine and kept in sync manually.
Dryer pricing in the Business Manager is configured as a Base vend: the price of one coin drop and the number of minutes that coin drop unlocks. The minutes value is for display purposes only and must match what the dryer itself is programmed to deliver. You can also optionally set a different top-off price for additional time after the initial vend.
If the vend price or minutes-per-coin has changed on the machine, the device must be updated to match. Once devices are paired to the Business Manager, this update has to happen through the Business Manager. The guide below unpairs the device, then re-pairs it to the same machine instance through the pairing wizard. This is critical for preserving turn history, the coin ledger, and the association with the correct Live Link QR code. If the machine is archived instead, all of this will be lost, so follow the steps below carefully.
Step-By-Step Description
In the Business Manager, go to the Machines page and click the dryer you want to update. A details panel will slide in from the right showing the Dryer's status, MAC address, and pricing.
In the details panel, find the Device MAC address row and click Unpair device.
Confirm in the prompt by clicking OK.
You'll see a "Device successfully unpaired!" confirmation at the bottom of the screen. The machine status switches to Offline and the details panel now shows No device paired.
In the same details panel, click Pair device next to the Device MAC address row to start the pairing wizard.
On the Device Type screen, open the Cents device dropdown and select the MAC address of the device you just unpaired (e.g.,
8c:3b:4a:8d:9d:ab), then click Next.On the Configure Device screen, select the correct Manufacturer (common options for non-serial dryers include "Alliance Pulse" and "Electrolux"). Confirm the Machine name / number, then choose Dryer. Click Next. Contact Cents Support if you have questions about the manufacturer selection.
On the Set Pricing screen, configure the dryer's pricing:
What's the coin value? Choose $0.25 (most common) or $1.
Base vend price: Enter the cost of one coin drop on the dryer (e.g., $1.00).
Base vend mins: Enter how many minutes that coin drop buys on the dryer (e.g., 4 mins). This field is for display purposes only and must match what is programmed on the machine itself.
Set a different top-off price (optional): Toggle this on if customers should pay a different rate to add time after the initial vend, then enter the top-off price.
Click Save to finish re-pairing the device at the updated pricing.
Once saved, the device is re-paired to the same machine, the new vend price and minutes are active, and the machine's turn history, coin ledger, and Live Link QR code are preserved.
Note on dry time: The Business Manager's "Base vend mins" field is display only. To actually change how many minutes of dry time a coin drop delivers, you must adjust the dryer's onboard programming. Whatever you enter in the Business Manager must match the machine, or customers will see incorrect time displayed. Reach out to Cents Support if you need help confirming the machine-side configuration.
