How to Change the Price of a Non-Serial Washer

Written by Euri

For non-serial machines such as Dexter A-Series, V-Series, and N-Series washers, Alliance Centurion, MDC, and NetMaster dryers, and Electrolux Compass Pro dryers, the Cents device has no direct communication with the machine to read its vend price. This means the device price must be set independently from the machine.

If the vend price has changed on the machine, the device must be updated to match. Once devices are paired to the Business Manager, this update has to happen through the Business Manager. Follow the steps below to walk through the process.

The guide unpairs the device, then re-pairs it to the same machine instance through the pairing wizard. This is critical for preserving turn history, the coin ledger, and the association with the correct Live Link QR code. If the machine is archived instead, all of this will be lost, so follow the steps below carefully.

Step-By-Step Description

  1. In the Business Manager, go to the Machines page and click the machine you want to update. A details panel will slide in from the right.

  2. In the details panel, find the Device MAC address row and click Unpair device.

  3. Confirm in the prompt by clicking OK.

  4. You'll see a "Device successfully unpaired!" confirmation at the bottom of the screen. The machine status switches to Offline and the details panel now shows No device paired.

  5. In the same details panel, click Pair device next to the Device MAC address row to start the pairing wizard.

  6. On the Device Type screen, select the Cents Device's MAC address from the dropdown, then click Next.

  7. On the Configure Device screen, select the correct Manufacturer (in this example, "Dexter Coin Pulse", but other common options include "Electrolux" or "Alliance Pulse"). Confirm the Machine name / number, then choose Washer or Dryer. Click Next. Contact Cents Support if you have questions about the manufacturer selection.

  8. On the Set Pricing screen, choose the correct coin value (defaults to $0.25, which is the most common), then enter the new Price per Turn. Click Save to finish re-pairing the device at the updated vend price.

Once saved, the device is re-paired to the same machine, the new vend price is active, and the machine's turn history, coin ledger, and Live Link QR code are preserved.
