The Cents Employee App lets you enroll a customer in a membership plan right from the counter, no QR code or LiveLink required. This guide walks through the full flow: finding the customer, choosing a plan, and either sending them a sign-up link or completing the sign-up on their behalf.
Good to know: This experience mirrors membership sign-up in Business Manager. That means you can see every membership plan you offer, including ones you don't advertise on the self-serve LiveLink (like a first-responder or teacher discount), and you can set a future start date, which isn't possible through the LiveLink.
A customer can only be enrolled in one membership at a time. If they already have a plan, it'll show on their profile before you start.
Step 1: Open Membership Sign Up
From the Employee App home screen, tap the Membership Sign Up tile (top row, next to New Service Order and New Product Sale).
Tap the + to start a new sign-up.
Step 2: Choose the customer
Search by name, phone number, or email to find an existing customer, or select + Add new customer if they're not in the system yet.
Once you select a customer, their profile summary appears on the right — available credit, preferences, and any existing membership. If they're not already enrolled in a plan, you'll see that confirmed here.
Tap Next.
Step 3: Choose the membership plan
You'll see every membership plan available at your location(s), not just the ones set up for self-service sign-up on the LiveLink. Each option shows the price, billing cadence, included benefits, and which locations it's valid at.
Select the plan and tap Next.
Step 4: Decide how the customer will complete sign-up
On the Membership Summary & Billing screen, choose one of two paths:
Send to customer for sign-up: Sends a text message with a link so the customer can complete registration and enter their own payment details. This is the best option if you want to set a future start date and let the customer handle billing themselves.
Sign up on behalf of customer now: You add their payment method and complete the sign-up (and charge) immediately, right there in the app.
If you send it to the customer
Set the membership start date (defaults to today - tap to pick a future date), confirm the phone number under Send via SMS, and tap Sign up.
If you're signing up on their behalf
Tap + Add payment method to put a card on file. The screen shows exactly what will be charged upfront and the next billing date. Check both boxes to confirm the customer has agreed to the charge and to the terms & conditions. Sign up won't activate until both are checked.
Step 5: Confirm
Once you tap Sign up, you'll return to the home screen with a confirmation banner.
If you sent it to the customer, the banner confirms the text message went out. The customer finishes registration on their end.
If you signed up on their behalf, the membership is active immediately and you can go straight into a new order for that customer.
Where to check on a membership afterward
Open Customers, select the customer, and their Details tab shows their current plan, available credit, and rewards points at a glance. Tap View membership for the full picture: benefits and how many are left, the applicable locations, the card on file, next billing date, and billing history.
