WashLynx: Machine Status Updates (Parts Ordered & Abandonment Checks)

Flag an out-of-order machine as waiting on parts, and use the Check State filter to spot machines that may have been left with laundry inside.

Written by Euri

This WashLynx update gives attendants and technicians clearer visibility into machine status. You can flag an out-of-order machine that is waiting on a replacement part, and spot machines that may have been left with laundry inside.

Video walkthrough

This video walks through the latest WashLynx features.

Mark an out-of-order machine as Parts Ordered

When a machine is out of order and a technician has ordered a replacement part, mark it as Parts Ordered so operators know it is waiting on components, not just unresolved. The machine stays non-operational until the part arrives and is installed.

  1. In WashLynx, open the machine that is out of order.

  2. Set the machine's status to Out of Order, or open its existing Out of Order status.

  3. Select Parts Ordered as the reason.

  4. Save. The machine now shows Out of Order (Parts Ordered) in both WashLynx and LaundroPortal.

Check machines for abandonment

When a machine finishes a cycle and its door is not opened, the customer may have walked away and left their laundry. WashLynx flags these machines so an attendant can check on them.

How it works:

  • After a machine moves from Busy to Done or Available, WashLynx watches its state. If nothing changes for about 15 minutes, WashLynx flags the machine as possibly abandoned and shows how long it has been sitting.

  • The flag appears on the washer or dryer entry, and you can filter to see only the machines that need a check.

To review flagged machines:

  1. Open the Availability tab in WashLynx.

  2. Tap the Check State filter to show only washers and dryers that should be checked for abandonment.

  3. Review each flagged machine and how long it has been idle, then go check on it.
