WashLynx is the LaundroWorks app your attendants use on their phones to start machines, service readers, and work with the Value Add Center. Setting up an account has three parts: the attendant creates the account in the app, you enable that account in the LaundroPortal, then you assign the permissions that match their role.
Before you start
LaundroWorks must configure WashLynx for your store first. If that has not happened yet, email [email protected] to get set up.
You need LaundroPortal access with permission to use Card Tracker.
Each attendant needs their own account and their own mobile device. Do not share one account across your team.
New accounts start with no permissions. The account will not do anything in the app until you enable it and assign permissions, covered in Steps 3 and 4 below.
Step 1: Create the WashLynx account
The attendant does this part on their own phone.
Download the WashLynx app at app.washlynx.com and open it.
On the sign-in and sign-up screen, either enter an email address and password, or link the Google or Apple account already signed in on the device.
Tap Sign Up.
Tap the phone against any card reader to bind the account to your location.
Confirm the account was created before moving on. The account number appears on the app's main screen and starts with "M".
Already using the LaundryCat app? Log in with that same account instead of creating a new one.
Step 2: Find the account in the LaundroPortal
Log in to the LaundroPortal.
Open Card Tracker.
Search for the account using the email address the attendant signed up with. You can also search by the account number that starts with "M".
Open the matching record and go to the WashLynx tab.
Search by the exact email address. Opening the wrong record is the most common mistake in this step.
Step 3: Enable the account
In the WashLynx tab, find the Account Enabled checkbox.
Check the box to turn the account on.
Confirm the box stays checked.
Do not skip this step. The account will not work on the attendant's phone until Account Enabled is checked.
Step 4: Assign roles and permissions
Permissions are grouped by what the attendant needs to do. Turn on only what their role requires.
Reader Service. Get basic info, activate and deactivate readers, enter machine service modes, reboot a reader, and limit access to specific reader types.
Machine Use Allowance. Allow machine use for service or for customer support, require the account to be clocked in, require an explanation note, and set daily limits on washer, dryer, and vending use, total cycle cost, and total cycles.
VAC Service. Get basic info, check status, perform tests, reboot the VAC, activate and deactivate, register cash collections, and allow cash deposits.
VAC Card Operations. Dispense cards, add or change balances on cards, and set daily limits on card operations.
Wash Dry Fold (WDF). Enable WDF and allow manual order entry in the app.
Clock In / Out. Enable clock in and clock out.
Two limits worth setting up front:
Daily limits cap the total cycles and the total cost of cycles an account can use. Check the box and enter a value. Limits reset at midnight, and the Reset button clears today's use right away.
VAC kiosk limits cap the total value an attendant can add to laundry cards in a day, and the number of new system cards they can create.
Tip: change one setting at a time and watch which features turn on. Some permissions unlock others.
Step 5: Save and confirm access
Click Save.
Confirm the changes saved successfully.
Have the attendant log in to WashLynx on their phone and check that the features you enabled are available.
Repeat Steps 1 through 5 for each attendant.
You can adjust permissions at any time as roles change.
Tips to make setup faster
Collect attendant names, emails, and required permissions before you start.
Standardize permissions by role so each new setup is a copy of an existing one.
Save after each account instead of configuring several at once.
Review permissions carefully before saving to avoid giving an attendant too much or too little access.
