How to Start a Machine with the WashLynx App

With the Cents and Laundroworks WashLynx integration, attendants can start machines from the WashLynx app while processing an order in Cents. How to set it up and use it.

Cents connects with LaundroWorks' WashLynx app so attendants can start machines from WashLynx while processing an order in Cents (Advanced Processing). Cents sends the machine information to WashLynx, you start the machines from the app, then mark the order complete back in Cents.

Before you start

A few things need to be in place for the integration to work:

Have feedback on the WashLynx app? Email [email protected] with "WashLynx Feedback" as the subject.

Activate WashLynx

  1. Email [email protected] to let them know you'd like to use WashLynx. They'll configure it and may run some updates on your system.

  2. Log in with the same account as the LaundryCat app if you have it, or create a new WashLynx account.

  3. Tap your phone to any reader to bind the account to your location (just like the LaundryCat app).

  4. At first, the app won't have any permissions. As the operator, you'll set them in the LaundroPortal (see below).

Hardware requirements

  • A VAC4 control board inside the VAC (the black main VAC control boards; standard for 3+ years, so you likely have them).

  • An NFC-capable VAC NFC board with firmware V2.1.1.17 or greater. Boards on lower firmware may not be remotely updatable, so you may need to buy new NFC boards at a small cost.

  • NFC-capable card readers.

Some minor hardware updates may be required depending on your LaundroWorks system version. Contact [email protected] with questions.

Configuring permissions

  1. Log into the LaundroPortal and use Card Tracker to find your account (it starts with "M" and is shown on the app's main screen).

  2. Go to the WashLynx tab.

  3. Enable or disable features and set permission values as needed. Tip: use cause-and-effect to see which features turn on as you change settings.

Helpful limits you can set:

  • Daily limits on total cycles and total cost of cycles the account can use. Check the boxes and enter values; use the rewind button to reset today's use (values reset at midnight).

  • VAC kiosk limits on the total value of refunds or money added when an attendant dispenses new cards.

Start a machine with WashLynx

Cents sends machine information from the Employee App to WashLynx so attendants can start and run machines from WashLynx directly.

  1. On Cents, create a new order and move it to Processing.

  2. Assign the machines used to the order from the washer/dryer drop-down on Cents.

  3. Once the order is in Processing, it appears in the Wash, Dry, Fold tab on WashLynx.

  1. Open the order on WashLynx (you'll see the order number, entry date, and due date).

  2. Click Start machine for this order.

  1. Using NFC tap, tap your phone against the reader on the machine to start it.

  1. When the machines finish, mark the order as processing complete on Cents.
