Wascomat: Encore/Crossover Washer

This installation covers Wascomat Encore and Crossover washers. The reader uses serial communication to communicate with the machine. Both card-ready and coin models are covered.

Installation

  1. Before proceeding, you should assign numbers to each of the machines in the laundry room/building. It is highly recommended that you place number labels on each washer and dryer machine.

  2. Set the machine type and number using the DIP switch on the MCU circuit board:

  3. Turn machine power OFF!

  4. Remove the coin drop if present

  5. Connect the signal connector




    For Top-load washers, the cable harness are usually inside the meter case.




  6. Connect the 2-pin power connector

    Both Crossover and Encore washers always have a mating 2-pin mating power connector. It might be buried inside the wiring. For Top-load washers, it can be found in the meter-case (see photo above in Step 5). For Front-load washers, the mating connector typically comes from the white module on the side of the machine, as below:




  7. Proceed to secure the reader to the machine using the nuts

  8. Enable Serial Communication on washer


    Press the service mode switch.
    All LEDs flash. Press the HEAVY SOIL and EXTRA RINSE buttons SIMULTANEOUSLY.
    The display shows "0 00". Press the START button. 0 00 flashes.
    Press the COLD cycle button. The display now flashes "1 00". Press the START button.
    Display stops flashing. Press the service mode switch. The display will now show "-- --", indicating that the controller is in SERIAL COMMUNIOCATION mode, and awaiting commands.

    To switch it back from serial: Locate small “red” reset button behind the left digit in the display. Press and hold down button.
