Installation Steps

Step 1: Turn Machine Power Off

Step 2: Remove coin-drop

Step 3: Number the reader using the DIP switch

Step 4: Connect the Start signal wires

Locate the male spade connectors with labels ENABLE1 and ENABLE2 on the dryer control board. Connect the wires from the harness as follows:

Step 5: Power supply

Connect the 120Vac side of the power supply, either to an available wall outlet, or splice the power supply directly to the machine, using an appropriate high-voltage connection inside the machine.

When connecting to the machine directly, you'll be cutting off the AC prong, and splicing these wires directly to the machine (we recommend consulting the manufacturer, or an electrician, to confirm this type of connection).
Then connect the DC side to the female barrel connector on the harness.

Step 6: Activate

Mount the reader, power on the machine, and activate the reader using the Activation:

Troubleshooting

Below are problems commonly encountered during installation of readers on these dryers. For more general reader troubleshooting, see Reader Support

Issue
Explanation and resolution
Reader taking money but not starting the machine
Ensure you've connected the spade connectors accordingly.
Dryer display not coming onIn some dryers like MLG45PDB we've noticed that if you unplug the coin drop, the dryer display turns off. In this case, you will want to keep the coin drop connect and tucked away somewhere inside the machine securely
