How to Customize Order Update Notifications

Laundry Updates lets you customize the SMS messages your customers receive throughout the order lifecycle — including pickups, deliveries, order changes, and more. You can edit message wording, turn notifications on or off, and preview exactly what customers will see, all from the Business Manager.


Before You Start

  • This feature is on by default

  • Changes apply only to future messages

  • SMS notifications are sent in English (Spanish is automatically translated from English and cannot be edited yet)

⚠️ Important compliance notes

  • Do not remove your store name from messages — SMS carriers require business identification.

  • We strongly recommend keeping unsubscribe language (for example, Reply STOP to unsubscribe) to remain compliant.

You’ll see warnings in the app if you attempt to remove required language.


How to Customize Your SMS Notifications

Step 1: Open Order Notifications

  1. Log in to your Business Manager

  2. Navigate to Settings

  3. Select Order Notifications (or Laundry Updates, depending on your menu label)


Step 2: Choose a Notification Type

You’ll see a list of SMS notifications tied to different moments in the order lifecycle (for example: order received, pickup scheduled, delivery complete).

Click on a notification to edit it.


Step 3: Edit the Message Copy

  • Update the text directly in the message editor

  • Personalize the wording to match your brand or operations

  • Required elements (like your store name) may be locked or flagged

💡 Tip: Keep messages short and clear — customers are more likely to read concise texts.


Step 4: Preview the Message

Use the preview panel to see exactly what customers will receive before saving your changes.


Step 5: Enable or Disable the Notification

  • Use the toggle to turn a specific notification on or off

  • Disabled notifications will no longer be sent to customers

You can manage each notification independently.


Step 6: Save Your Changes

Click Save to apply your updates.

Your new message copy will be used for all future SMS notifications of that type.


What Happens Next

  • Existing messages remain unchanged unless you edit them

  • New message copy applies only to future orders

  • Customers will immediately start receiving the updated SMS messages
