  1. Unbox your Cents terminal and pull off the back of the device. As a note, it’s a bit tricky to get off, so feel free to be firm when you pull it off crossways.

  2. Insert the flat battery pack into the given slot so the warning sign is facing towards you

3. Reapply the backing and press the power button on the top right hand side of the device to turn it on.

4. When the device powers on, it should either automatically direct you to your wifi settings or, you should be able to manually click into the settings field to connect the terminal to your stores network. Please note your tablet must be connected to the same internet (POS may be direct connected via ethernet or via WIFI, card reader must be on secure WPA2/WPA Personal network as well WIFI connected POS) as the card reader as this is how they’ll pair.

5. Once your wifi network is connected, back out of that screen and answer any general setup questions presented to you. It is likely that it will ask you to update the device after taking this step. If they ask for an additional admin pin, you can enter in the following code: 07139.

6. After updating, the card reader will then present a three wording pair code that needs to be tied to your backend infrastructure. Send that to our support team along with your business name and address.

7. After the device is paired, it will ask you to push updates to the device again. Once that’s done, you'll reach a Cents splash screen that is highlighted in the screenshot below.

8. To confirm your device has been successfully paired to the POS system, please navigate to the connections tab in the employee app and confirm that the status of the card reader line reads as connected.
