In this article, you will learn best practices that will help troubleshoot issues you may encounter with your ESD cash card. Follow the steps below to get started:

  1. First, make sure the ESD reader is connected to the same wifi network and compatible with their system’s method of connection. To configure the network settings of the reader, you must use a special “Network Parameter Management Card,” provided by ESD, that has been loaded with a specific wireless network SSID and password that matches the store’s SSID and password. When the card is inserted into the card throat of the reader, it will begin a count up from 1 to 12 while it goes through initialization. After step 12, if the connection is good and the reader was able to connect to WiFi, you will see the local IP address scroll on the display. At this time, you may remove the “Network Parameter Card”.

  2. Next, you will need to make sure you have the special wifi card that gets inserted into the reader to register it properly. If you do not have this card, you will need to get a new card reader. ESD must provide this - Cents cannot provide these.

  1. The next step is to reboot the ESD Centslink device.

  2. Next, you will need to inspect the reader itself and clean the dust from inside the reader to make sure the card can be properly read. If the reader is damaged, it will not work properly.

Lastly, please ensure your stores are registered properly in the Cents Business Manager.
