Cents gives you the ability to manage your cash drawer directly from the employee application. However, in order to do so, you'll first need to set up and connect your cash drawer to Cents.

First, we'll need to enable Cash Drawer functionality for your individual store(s):

  • Open your Cents Business Manager, and click into the specific store/location for which you wish to enable cash drawer functionality

  • Click on the 3 dot menu in the top right-hand corner of the location, and select "Cash Card System."

  • Enable both cash payment and cash drawer functionality options, and click "Save":

Next, we'll connect your cash drawer to your printer using the APG Cable:

  • Connect one end of your APG cable to your cash drawer. The other end will be inserted into an Ethernet-looking port on the printer itself.

  • Pop open the bottom of your printer and insert the other end of the APG cable into the beige port on your printer, shown below:

  • Replace the bottom of your printer and turn it right-side-up

  • Unlock your cash drawer, ensuring your lock is in the vertical position:

Lastly, let's test the cash drawer to ensure your cash drawer is properly connected.

  • Open the Cents Employee application on your tablet

  • Click into the 3 line menu on the top lefthand side of your screen, and click on "Cash Drawer":

  • Click on the 3 dot menu in the top righthand corner, and select "Open Cash Drawer":

  • If the connection is successful, your cash drawer should pop open immediately! If it does not:

    • Confirm your printer is powered on and has a printer roll inside

    • Confirm your cash drawer is unlocked

    • Confirm the APG cable connecting your printer and cash drawer is inserted fully
