In this article, you will learn how to use Sessioning.
To enable sessioning, please reach out to your Account Manager and we will turn this setting on for you.
Once this is enabled, you will see the updates in the Cents Employee Application. To start a session, you will enter your pin. Proceed by clicking “Start Session.”
This pin will be the same pin as your employee code.
If the employee is not yet checked in, it will automatically check them in and proceed to the tablet home screen. If the employee is checked in, it will take you to the tablet home screen immediately.
If you choose to click “Check In/Out” in the upper right corner, you will be taken to the slimmed down version of the screen we have today.
Clicking the “X” here takes you back to the lock screen.
The new home screen will now display with the employee’s name, instead of location name, and you will see a new option to “End session” at the top.
Once the employee is sessioned in, they will no longer need to enter their employee number in for the following actions: order intake and adjustment, machine management, order processing, and shift management. They will still need to enter their employee number for the following actions: voiding an order, refunding an order, and cash in or cash out.
The session will last as long as the employee is still actively using the tablet application, until they either click “End session” or the tablet is idle for 2 minutes. If the tablet is idle for 2 minutes, they will see a screen that asks “Are you still there?”
The employee can either click “Yes, I’m still here” or leave the screen there. If the button is not clicked before the 10 second countdown completes, the session will end and go back to the lock screen.
