Your cash drawer opens on its own when you take a cash payment. You can also pop it open from the Cents Employee App any time you need to, like making change or doing a count.
Use this if you want to open the cash drawer without taking a payment.
Before you start
The cash drawer is connected and enabled for your location.
The drawer is started. On the Home screen, Cash Drawer shows Active.
The key on the drawer is in the unlocked (vertical) position.
Steps
On the Home screen, tap Cash Drawer (next to Active). You can also tap the menu icon (3 lines, top left) and select Cash Drawer.
Tap the 3-dot menu in the top right and select Open Cash Drawer. The drawer pops open.
Troubleshooting
Cash Drawer doesn't say Active?
Start the drawer first. Tap Cash Drawer, enter your starting cash amount, and start it. Then try again.
Tapped Open Cash Drawer but nothing happened?
Make sure the key is in the unlocked (vertical) position and the cable is pushed in all the way at both ends. For a full checklist, see How to Connect Your Cash Drawer to Your Sunmi POS.
Need to add or remove cash while the drawer is open?
Record it with Cash Out / In so your count stays accurate. See How to Record Cash In and Cash Out in the Employee App.
The drawer won't open even with the key?
The drawer may be jammed or damaged. Text our Support team and we'll help you get it replaced.
