Order Minimums let you set a minimum dollar amount required per Service Order. If an order doesn't reach the threshold, the difference is automatically added as an "Order Minimum Fee" — no action needed from your attendants or customers. Once services added to the order meet or exceed the minimum, the fee disappears on its own.
You can set different minimums for walk-in orders and online pickup & delivery orders independently.
Before You Start
Order Minimums apply to Service Orders only
Walk-in and delivery minimums are configured separately — you can enable one, both, or neither
The setting is toggled off by default — you must enable it to activate it
Setting an Order Minimum
Per Location
Log in to Business Manager
Go to the Admin tab → Locations
Select the location you want to configure
In the Details panel on the right, find Order Minimum
Toggle on the minimum for Walk-in Orders, Delivery Orders, or both
Enter the minimum dollar amount for each
Save your changes
Global Default (for multi-location businesses)
You can set an account-level default so you don't have to configure every location individually. Location-level settings will override the global default where set.
Log in to Business Manager
Go to the Admin tab → Account → Settings
Scroll down until you find Order Minimums
Toggle on the minimum for Walk-in Orders, Delivery Orders, or both
Enter the minimum dollar amount for each
Note: If you use Pricing Tiers, tier-level minimums take precedence over location-level settings.
How the Order Minimum Fee Works
If the order subtotal is below your minimum, the difference is automatically added as an Order Minimum Fee (shown as "Order Minimum Fee ($X min)" on the receipt)
The fee updates in real time — as services are added and the subtotal grows, the fee adjusts accordingly
Once the subtotal meets or exceeds the minimum, the fee is removed automatically
Promos and credits don't affect whether the fee is charged. The minimum is evaluated against the subtotal before any discounts are applied. If the pre-promo subtotal meets the minimum, no fee is added — even if a discount brings the final total below the threshold
Order minimums and per-pound minimums
If your location also has per-pound minimums configured, the two work together. If per-pound minimums are met but the overall dollar amount is still below the order minimum, the order minimum fee is applied to cover the gap.
What Your Attendants and Customers Will See
On the Cents POS (walk-in orders): The order minimum fee appears in the order total in real time. It disappears automatically once services reach the minimum — attendants don't need to do anything.
On the Employee App: The fee is reflected automatically in the order total. No manual action required.
On the Livelink (delivery orders): Customers can see that an order minimum applies before they complete their order. For delivery orders, the exact fee may be applied after the order is finalized (since the total often isn't known until after pickup), rather than at the time of placement.
On the order builder in Business Manager: The fee is shown in real time and removes automatically when the minimum is met.
Troubleshooting
The Order Minimum setting doesn't appear in my location details. This feature is available behind a feature flag. If you don't see it, contact your Cents account manager to have it enabled.
The order minimum fee isn't being removed when it should be. Make sure the service total (before promos) has reached or exceeded the minimum. If the pre-promo subtotal meets the minimum, no fee should be added. If the behavior looks incorrect, contact support.
The fee appeared on a delivery order after the fact. This is expected for delivery orders. Because order weight isn't always known at the time of placement, the fee may be applied once the order is finalized and the total is confirmed.
My per-pound minimum is met, but the order minimum fee is still showing. The order minimum and per-pound minimum are evaluated separately. Meeting the per-pound minimum doesn't automatically satisfy the dollar-based order minimum. The order minimum fee will apply if the overall subtotal is still below your set threshold.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I set different minimums for walk-in vs. delivery? Yes — they're configured independently. You can enable one without the other, and set different amounts for each.
Can my attendant remove or waive the fee for a specific order? No — the fee is applied and removed automatically based on the order total. Attendants cannot manually override it.
Does the order minimum apply to all order types? No — only to Service Orders (walk-in and online pickup & delivery).
Does the minimum apply after discounts? No — the minimum is evaluated against the subtotal before promos and credits. If the pre-discount subtotal meets the minimum, no fee is added.
What does the fee look like on the customer's receipt? It appears as a line item labeled "Order Minimum Fee ($X min)" after the subtotal.
Can I apply a different minimum for specific delivery zones or tiers? Yes — if you use Pricing Tiers, you can configure order minimums at the tier level. Tier settings take precedence over location-level defaults.
