How to Place a New Order on Behalf of a Customer

Create a pickup and delivery order for a customer directly in the Business Manager, handy for phone orders or when you're helping a customer set one up.

Written by Euri

When a customer wants to place a pickup and delivery order but can't do it themselves (for example, over the phone), you can create the order for them in the Business Manager.

Before you start

  • Log in to the Cents Business Manager and make sure you're working in the correct store.

  • Have the customer's details ready: name, address, and what they'd like done.

  • This is for pickup and delivery orders. For in-store retail intake, use the Employee App on your POS.

How to place an order on behalf of a customer

  1. In the Business Manager, go to Customers.

  2. Find and click the customer's name to open their profile. (If they're new, add them first.)

  3. Click the "+" (New Order) to start an order on their behalf.

  4. Enter the customer's address to check pickup eligibility.

  5. Choose the pickup and delivery times.

  6. Add the service types, add-ons, laundry preferences, and any special instructions.

  7. To set up a repeating order, enroll them in recurring deliveries.

  8. Click Submit Order to finalize.

Important things to know

  • The address determines eligibility. If it's outside your delivery zones, pickup and delivery times won't be available.

  • Available times depend on your delivery windows and zones, and any store closures.

  • Recurring sets the order to repeat on a schedule you choose.

  • Need to change it later? See How to Reschedule or Update an Existing Order.

Troubleshooting

  • No pickup or delivery times appear. The address may be outside your delivery zones, or your windows or a store closure may be blocking that date. Confirm the address and your delivery settings.

  • I can't find the customer. Search by name or phone in Customers. If they're new, add them first, then place the order.

  • The order didn't submit. Make sure the required fields (address, times, and at least one service) are filled in, then try Submit Order again.
