How to Tare a Mettler Toledo Scale

  1. Press the left arrow key until “M,” indicating 'Mode,' is highlighted.

  2. Use the center key to make your selection.

  3. Press the right arrow key to choose “WtTare.”

  4. Then, press the left arrow key until “T,” representing Tare, is highlighted.

  5. Press the center key to confirm your selection.

  6. The scale should now display “0”.

  7. Switch back to "M" by pressing the left arrow key again and select “M” for 'Mode.'

  8. Choose “BasicW” and press the center key to finalize the setting.

9. Your scale is now tared.

Troubleshooting: If the above steps do no work, please try the below and start the process again from the top of the page.

  1. Access Seconds Mode: Press and hold the up arrow for 5 seconds until the display switches to show seconds.

  2. Enter OPMode: Navigate to OPMode using the arrows, then press Enter.

  3. Activate Weight + Tare Function: Find the Wt + Tare option using the arrows, and press Enter.

  4. Enable the Option: Scroll to Enable, then press Enter.

  5. Return to Home: Navigate to Home using the arrows, and press Enter.

  6. Save the Settings: Go to Save (ensure you don’t select Abort), and press Enter.

  7. Exit the Menu: Press Enter again to exit the menu.

  8. Wait for Reset: The scale will reset automatically. Wait for about 10 seconds.

  9. Verify M Mode Activation: After the reset, the “M” mode option will appear on the scale.

  10. Proceed with Further Instructions: You can now proceed with the above steps outlined in the top of this help center article for further setup.
