You can start a washer or dryer remotely from the Cents Employee App or Cents Business Manager, for example to give a customer a free wash or to test a machine after a repair. These manual runs are recorded as a Customer Service or Technical turn.
Use this if you need to start a machine for a customer, or run it for maintenance or testing.
Before you start
The machine must be paired to a Cents device and show Available. The Run Machine button only appears for available machines.
Choose Customer Service when you're running it for a customer (you'll pick the customer and add notes), or Technical when it's for maintenance or testing (you'll add the technician name and notes).
Manual runs don't charge the customer.
Run a washer from the Employee App
From the Home screen, open the three-line menu and tap Machines.
Check the machine status. Available means it's online and ready. No device paired (gray dot) means there's no Cents device on it. Device not found (orange dot) means the device is offline.
Tap the available washer to see its details, like average revenue and turns per day, price per vend, and machine number.
On the Details tab, tap Run Machine.
Choose Technical or Customer Service.
Fill in the reason details (technician name or customer, plus notes), then tap Next.
Review the Wash Settings. These come from how the machine is set up with its manufacturer and can look different by brand. Tap Run Machine.
Run a dryer from the Employee App
Open the dryer and tap Run Machine on the Details tab.
Choose Technical or Customer Service.
Fill in the reason details and continue.
On the Dry Settings screen, choose the time you need with the + button and tap Run Machine.
Run a machine from Business Manager
Click My Stores > Machines.
Open the Washers or Dryers tab, click the machine, and click Run Machine on its details.
Choose Technical or Customer Service and click Next.
Enter the customer name or technician name and notes, then click Next.
For a washer, review the Washer Settings and click Enable Start.
For a dryer, choose the time to add and click Enable Start.
Enable Start tells the machine it's been paid for, so the wash or dry can be started from the machine itself.
See the turn record
Open the machine's Turns tab to see every turn and why it ran: Technical (run manually for a technical reason), Customer Service (run manually for a customer, like a free wash), Full Service (a wash and fold order), or Self Service (a customer paid at the machine).
Tap a turn to see the full breakdown: reason, type, start time, date, location, and more. The same records show in Business Manager.

The device is offline. Power cycle the machine at the breaker and check your internet, then try again.I'm asked for an employee code.
Your store requires a code for this action. Enter your employee code to continue. The machine didn't start after Enable Start.
Enable Start doesn't press start for you. Press start on the machine itself.
