How to Run a Machine for a Wash & Fold Order in the Employee App
With Advanced Processing, your attendants can assign networked washers and dryers to a wash & fold order right from the Cents Employee App, start the cycle, and watch the time remaining update in real time. This guide walks through running both a washer and a dryer on an order.
Before you start
You need the Cents Employee App and an order that is already in processing.
This uses Advanced Processing, which must be turned on for your location. See How to Turn On Advanced Processing.
Only networked machines connected to Cents appear here. A non-networked machine can’t be assigned or tracked from the app.
Assign and run a washer
Once your order is in processing, the processing screen lets attendants indicate which machines were used.
On the wash icon, click Machines, then choose an available machine to add.
You can also add a machine by scanning the QR code on the right-hand side of the machine list.
After you add or scan the machine, you’ll see its current cycle settings. These wash settings come from the machine manufacturer’s account, so the details shown vary by manufacturer. You can add as many machines as you need to this order.
Click Enable Start to proceed.
Physically press Start on the machine for the cycle to begin.
Once the washer is enabled and started, the Employee App shows real-time updates on the time remaining for every machine on the order.
Assign and run a dryer
On the dryer icon, click Machines, then choose an available machine to add (or scan its QR code).
After you add or scan the dryer, you’ll see its current cycle settings. Add as much time as you need, then proceed.
Click Enable Start.
Press Start on the machine itself to begin the cycle.
As with washers, the app shows real-time time remaining, and you can add time as a top-off if your dryer supports that function.
Troubleshooting
Machine isn’t in the list?
Only networked machines connected to Cents appear here. Make sure the machine is online and connected; non-networked machines can’t be assigned from the app.
Clicked Enable Start but the machine didn’t run?
Enabling start in the app only unlocks the machine. You still have to physically press Start on the machine for the cycle to begin.
Don’t see the machine assignment screen?
That screen is part of Advanced Processing. It has to be turned on for your location, see How to Turn On Advanced Processing.
Cycle settings look wrong?
The wash and dry settings shown come from the machine manufacturer’s account, not Cents, and vary by manufacturer. Adjust them on the machine or in the manufacturer’s system.
Can’t add top-off time to a dryer?
Adding time works only if your machine model supports it.
