How to Update Your Bank Account
Your bank account is where Cents deposits the online payments your customers make. When you need the money to go to a different account, you connect that account in Account Settings under Payments, then assign your store(s) to it so payouts route there. Cents uses Stripe to verify and send payouts securely.
Before you start
You need Admin access to the Business Manager.
Use a desktop or laptop computer. This process doesn’t work well on a phone or tablet.
Have your bank routing number and account number ready. The account should be in your business or DBA name — a mismatch can cause Stripe to freeze payouts.
Allow pop-ups for admin.trycents.com so the Stripe verification window can open.
Update the account that receives your payouts
Log in to the Business Manager at admin.trycents.com and open the Admin portal.
Go to Account Settings and open the Payments tab.
Click Connect another bank account.
Complete Stripe verification (Verify Business), then enter the new routing number and account number and click Submit. For the full verification walkthrough, see How to Connect Your Bank Account to Cents.
Use Edit Assigned Locations to assign the store(s) whose payouts should go to the new account, then Save.
Keep your current account connected until the new one is verified and assigned, so your deposits aren’t interrupted. To correct the details on an account you’ve already connected, or if your payouts are paused, contact our Support team.
Troubleshooting
The Stripe window didn’t open?
A pop-up blocker is likely stopping it. Allow pop-ups for admin.trycents.com and click Verify Business again.
“Invalid Account Number. Account number must be at least 12 characters long.”?
Try adding 00 in front of your account number, then submit again.
Payouts are paused or the account is frozen?
This is usually a business-type or bank-name mismatch. The account must be in your business or DBA name. Double-check those details and contact Support.
Changed the account but money still went to the old one?
Payouts route by the bank account assigned to each location. Confirm the location is assigned to the new account under Edit Assigned Locations. Payouts already in progress finish to the previous account.
Not sure when the money will arrive?
Once verified, payouts usually arrive within a couple of business days, and aren’t sent on weekends or bank holidays.
