How to Mark a Delivery Order as Delivered

Update the status of a delivery order to Delivered from Active Orders. Includes what to check first, how to fix a mis-tagged order, and when the status can and cannot be reversed.

Written by Euri

When a delivery is dropped off, marking the order as Delivered closes out the order and moves it into Completed Orders. It also stops any pending delivery notifications and locks the payment and tip totals so nothing keeps changing after the customer has received their laundry.

This guide walks through marking a single delivery as Delivered from Active Orders, and what to check before and after so the status change sticks.

Mark an order as Delivered when:

  • The driver has completed the drop off and the customer has received their bags

  • A third party delivery (Nash, DoorDash) has completed and the confirmation did not auto-post back to the order

  • You are cleaning up an order that was completed in real life but is still sitting in Deliveries

Do not mark as Delivered when:

  • The order is still with the driver or has not been dispatched yet

  • The customer has reported that they did not receive the order

  • You are trying to close out a walk in order (walk in orders use Complete, not Delivered)

Before you start make sure:

  • You are logged in with a role that can edit order status (Store Manager or higher)

  • The order is fully paid, or you have confirmed the payment method on file will run automatically

  • The driver drop off has been confirmed (photo, signature, or driver check in)

If the delivery was routed through a third party integration (Nash, DoorDash, or your own driver app), give it a couple of minutes after the drop off before marking manually. The status often posts back automatically and marking early can create a duplicate status change.

How to mark a delivery order as Delivered

  1. Open the application and go to the home screen.

  2. Tap Active Orders.

  3. In the top right, tap Deliveries to filter the list to delivery orders only.

  4. Find the specific delivery order on the list. You can scroll or use the search bar at the top.

  5. On the right side of the order line, tap the three dot menu.

  6. Select Delivered from the menu.

The status changes to Delivered immediately, the order moves out of Active Orders, and it appears in Completed Orders. The customer receipt is finalized and any set up delivery confirmation notification is sent.

Gotchas and troubleshooting

The Delivered option is not showing in the three dot menu

The order is likely in a status that does not allow Delivered as the next step (for example, Ready for Pickup or Cancelled). Check the current status on the order and move it into In Delivery first if needed.

I marked the wrong order as Delivered

Delivered is not reversible from the same three dot menu. To fix it, open the order and use the status history to change it back, or reach out to Cents Support if the order has already been fully closed and paid out.

The status flipped back to In Delivery on its own

This usually means a third party delivery integration posted an update after your manual change. Wait for the integration to finish its cycle, then confirm the final status. If the flipping continues, escalate to Cents Support and include the order number and the delivery provider.

The customer says they did not receive the order but the status is Delivered

Do not change the status back on your own. Follow the missing laundry flow, collect the driver drop off proof, and reach out to Cents Support so we can investigate before adjusting.

I cannot find the order in Deliveries at all

The order may already be in Completed Orders. Check there first. If it is not in either, confirm it was dispatched as a delivery and not a walk in.

FAQ

Does marking an order as Delivered charge the customer?

If the customer has a card on file and the order is set to charge on completion, yes. The final total is captured when the status flips to Delivered. If the order was pre paid, no additional charge is made.

Does the customer get a notification when I mark it Delivered?

Yes, if delivery confirmation notifications are turned on for your store. The customer receives a text or email confirming the drop off.

Can I mark multiple deliveries as Delivered at the same time?

Not from Active Orders. Each order needs to be marked individually from its three dot menu.

Does this work the same way in the Business Manager and the Employee App?

The steps are the same in both. The button layout may look slightly different but the path (Active Orders, Deliveries, three dot menu, Delivered) is consistent.

What if the order was delivered days ago and I am just catching up?
The steps are the same. Mark it as Delivered from the three dot menu. The delivery date on the order will reflect when you marked it, not the actual drop off date, so if the exact date matters for reporting, add a note to the order.
