How to Remove a Service Fee from an Unpaid Active Order
If a service fee was added to an order by mistake, or you want to waive it for a customer, you can remove it in the Cents Employee App as long as the order hasn't been paid yet.
Before you start
You are logged in to the Cents Employee App.
The order is active and unpaid. Service fees can't be removed from paid orders.
Steps
From the Home screen, tap Active Orders.
Tap the magnifying glass and search for the order by order number or customer name, then open it.
Tap the 3-dot menu in the top right and select Adjust Order. The order builder opens.
Tap the up arrow to open the order summary drawer.
Find the Service Fee line and tap Remove.
Save the updated order. The new total no longer includes the service fee.
Troubleshooting
Don't see the Remove option on the service fee?
The order has most likely already been paid. Service fees can only be removed from unpaid orders. If the customer already paid, issue a partial refund for the fee amount instead.
Adjust Order isn't in the 3-dot menu?
Completed and canceled orders can't be adjusted. Check that you opened an active order.
The service fee keeps showing up on new orders?
Removing it here only affects this one order. The service fee itself is set up in Cents Business Manager. Ask your account admin if it should be changed for all orders.
The total didn't change?
Make sure you saved the order after removing the fee. Close and reopen the order to confirm the new total.
