How to Add an Order to a Rack in the Employee App

Assign a rack location while creating a new service order in the Employee App.

Written by Euri

Adding a rack (storage location) to an order tells your team exactly where the finished order is stored, so it's quick to find at pickup.

Use this if you want to record which rack or shelf an order is stored on.

Before you start

  • You've started a session in the Cents Employee App.

  • You know the rack number. If your racks have barcodes, you can scan them.

Add a rack during intake

  1. From the Home screen, tap New Service Order.

  2. Select the customer and tap Continue to intake.

  3. Add the customer's services and products.

  4. Tap Preferences & Order Notes at the top of the order builder.

  • Tap Storage Location(s). Type the rack number in Rack #1, or tap the scan icon to scan the rack's barcode. Tap + Add another rack if the order is split across racks.

  • Save and finish the order. The rack shows at the top of the Order Summary instead of No Rack.

Add or change a rack after processing

  • When you complete processing, the Confirm Packaging & Notify Customer screen shows the rack count. Tap Edit next to Racks to add or change the rack before you notify the customer.

Troubleshooting

  • The order still says No Rack?
The rack wasn't saved. Open Storage Location(s) again, enter the rack, and save before leaving the screen.

  • The scan icon doesn't read the barcode?
Hold the barcode steady and well lit, or type the rack number in instead.

  • The order is on more than one rack?
Tap + Add another rack and enter each one.
